Room "Pods" Improve Acoustics, Privacy, and Productivity
June 17, 2019
Last week was NeoCon, the international commercial design show at Chicago's Merchandise Mart. This year many of the showrooms featured products that dealt with acoustical issues in office space environments. Movable rooms or pods were shown where employees could escape from open office distraction which has been the trend up until recently.
The pods become a retreat where one is able to work in a quiet surround, conduct a conference, take a nap, watch a work video or make a phone in privacy to name a few tasks. There are even pods designed for wheelchair access. These pods can be picked up and moved to a new office or reconfigured when the space dictates a different need or requirement.
